This four story residential development is situated on a steep slope along York Mills Road. It contains 56 residential suites along with ground floor amenity spaces and underground parking.
The main construction materials used here are brick, cast-in-place and precast concrete, prefinished metal roofing and metal rails. The combination of materials and colors reinforces the residential character of the building.
Advantage was taken of the slope to access the underground parking from grade without a ramp. The subtle yet sensative use of landscape builds on the impression that the structure grows out of the ground.
The elevational treatment follows a tripartite layering of Base or Plinth (finished concrete), Middle (brick) and Cap (metal roofing); a traditional arrangement of the Classical and Rennaisance eras.
